Trying to print iPhone 16 heic HDR pix - gray / flat images

I am trying to print some pix from an iPhone 16 pro (HEIC HDR) via an online image printer. The images end up being printed incorrectly as they appear with muted colors and very washed out that hints that the online printer can’t hander the HDR part of the image.

I am exporting as a jpg and from what I’ve gathered the photos need to have the HDR baked into the jpeg image - it appears that my exports via preview and quick actions creates an jpg image with a HDR style profile “Rec. ITU-R BT.2020-1” that is misread / not supported by the online printer.

So, how can I export multiple photos in Acorn and get the correct profile - I believe I just need to use an sRGB profile. I have Acorn 7, any magic in 8 that would produce better results? Also is that where you batch program comes in?

Hello, and welcome!

In Acorn 8 there is a Shortcut action named “Change Color Profile” which will do what you’re after. If you aren’t familiar with the Shortcuts app, it’s an automation tool made by Apple and there’s a ton of information about it on the web.

Yes, my other app Retrobatch (https://flyingmeat.com/retrobatch/) could do this as well, and is specifically designed for processing hundreds or thousands of images at a time.

Thanks, I have acorn 7 so I ended up using Pixelmator Pro and a shortcut they had. Great to know you support shortcuts and I’ll look to that in the future.
