Could we have the option to make the Navigator / Magnifying Glass palette permanent? I keep having to go back and forth to it when navigating an image… having it in its own palette would be so much more convenient. I know you can press ‘Z’ to access it but, even then, it’s not as convenient as a permanent palette (you often have other palettes open that take the ‘Z’ as input
Also, could you increase the length of the magnification slider at the bottom of the window (to be the whole available length of that part of the window)? Tthat would give much finer control when zooming…
Actually, I’ve just had a thought: implementing Zoom and Pan the way that 3D apps do it would be brilliant (but you need a three-button mouse): moving the central scroll wheel back and forth zooms in and out and the pressing the central scroll wheel and the left mouse button simultaneously activates the Pan function. Beautifully simple.
In Acorn (and most drawing apps) you can hold down the option key and use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out. And holding down the spacebar will temporarily activate the Pan tool (this is a standard image editing thing too).
