Hi, I’d like to do the reverse of watermarking, so have a fixed sized background, and then scale and composite each photo on top of this static background. Is that possible? I can’t seem to find a generic composite node, and watermarking would implicitly have the wrong blending mode and base canvas size.

There is the “Overlay” node, which will probably do what you’re after. Have you given that a shot?
