Feature request: Colorize from black-and-white

ML-based colorizing is becoming a popular feature, but Affinity and Adobe both want to do it online to make you pay $18+ per month. It seems like something that would be relatively easy to do, using existing open source frameworks… though I realize that once added, there would be demands to tweak it! And quite useful, really.

Update: I just realized I should have searched for “colorising” as well, but that existing thread talked about the existing manual colorisation rather than ML-based colorization. I’m not sure how Adobe does it, I am pretty sure they look for faces and then assume skin tones … I’ve tried installing the open source libraries but really I need to do that from a fresh Linux install.

Anyway I do have an Acorn license and this would be something Pixelmator won’t do… at least not without paying Apple every month.

Famous last words

I’ll consider this for a future release.

Thanks! That’s all i can ask.
