Every image I open is black

I went to use Acorn today after some time away, and everything is black! PNGs, JPGs, you name it - every file displays as totally black. I’ve opened a number of older images to test, but the blackout continues. What’s interesting is the thumbnail in the layer window shows the right colors, they just don’t display in the main window. This is my first use of Acorn on a newer laptop, so most likely something is misconfigured somewhere, but I’m stumped.

Hello!

It looks like you’re using a very, very old version of Acorn which is no longer supported (I do miss those toolbar icons though). It looks to be Acorn 4, which came out in 2013, 13 years ago!

At any rate, Acorn 8 is the current release that’s supported on MacOS 26 Tahoe. It’s a paid upgrade, but if you’ve still got your registration information, shoot me an email (support@flyingmeat.com) and I can give you a little discount on the upgrade.
