Bitmap Colour replacement

I’m sure I was able to do this in Photoshop, but I can’t seem to figure out this incredibly simple operation:

I have a bitmap layer that contains pixels that are either opaque or transparent (it’s just bitmap text). All the opaque pixels are the same colour. I just want to change the colour of all the opaque pixels, say from white to yellow, but I can’t figure out how to do it…!!!

I think what you’re after is the Color Effect ▸ Monotone filter.
