Photos with multiple libraries

  • I am using OS X El Capitan version 10.11.4 together with Photos and Acorn.
My issue concerns using Photos with multiple libraries.

    Open Photos

    Photos opens the standard library.

    Select a photo.

    Select Share, then Acorn

Acorn opens with the selected photo
    Modify photo

    Select share, add to Photos

Modified photo added to standard library

    Open Photos with Opt Key

    Select a non-standard library

    Photos opens the non-standard library.

    Select a photo

    Select Share, then Acorn

Acorn opens with the selected photo

    Modify photo

    Select share, add to Photos

Modified photo added to standard library (not non-standard library as I would like)

How can I get Photos/Acorn to behave more in line with how I would like.
    Ron Beattie

  • If you drag and drop the image file from Acorn into the non-standard library, does that solve the issue?
  • The problem with it going to the non-standard library is most likely a bug in Photos, not Acorn. Acorn just tells Photos "Here's a photo- put it where it's supposed to go". Unfortunately, that's about all Apple gives us.
  • If instead of "Share, add to Photos" I use "File, save as, acorn type" Acorn goes into non responding mode.
  • Thanks Kirsten for your comments. How do I drag and drop the photo during photo-editing in Acorn(i.e. without saving it first)? Ron
  • Ccgus I have an error log for when Acorn goes unresponsive. What is the best way of passing it to you?
  • You would have to save it to the temporary folder prior to dragging it back to Photos.
  • @ron - send it to support@flyingmeat.com and we can take a look at it.
